Freddie Mac CFO Suicide – Would you kill yourself if you owned a million dollar house?

David Kellerman, the acting CFO of Freddie Mac was found dead Wednesday morning, of apparent suicide.  What 41 yr old with two young daughters ends his life and leave everything else behind, driving the rest into misery? WSJ thinks it may be a potential accounting scandal.

Investigators have been questioning Freddie officials about possible accounting violations and other matters in recent months, the company disclosed in March. “We know of no connection between this terrible personal tragedy and the ongoing regulatory inquiries discussed in our recent SEC filing,” said David Palombi, Freddie’s chief spokesman.

Honestly, whatever the reasons were, they must have been pretty significant.  Otherwise why on earth would you end your life at 41 when you can choose to retire and live a reasonable life w/ your family for the rest of your life? Golfing on Sundays, fishing on Mondays, fine dining on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, hell every single freaken day, and sipping your gormet coffee every morning don’t sound too bad to me.
