News: kaChing Releases New iPhone App

kaChing, which I covered in the past, has just released a free iPhone app. As finance apps goes, this one stands out in its depth. For starters, the app offers free and unlimited real time stock quotes.

Existing kaChing users can sync their portfolio with the app so they can keep managing it on the go. In fact, if you use kaChing on Facebook, you’ll be happy to know that the kaChing iPhone app uses Facebook Connect to sync with your portfolio as well. The synchronization process is a very intuitive and easy one-time process you go through on first launch of the app.

Another innovative feature is the ideas screen. kaChing already mines the portfolios of its top investors to find unique investment ideas (ones that only the best investors seem to have caught on to). On the app, these ideas are presented one at a time, with two dials that measure the level of conviction (long or short) among the best investors compared to the average investors. It’s a great signal when the best investors differ widely from the average ones.

Finally, kaChing also lets you follow your favorite investors directly on the phone. This too can be synchronized with the site.

It’s worth noting that you don’t HAVE to use kaChing to use the app (though the experience is even more robust when you can access it on the different platforms).
