Site Review: When You Need 40hrs In a Day, Use SkyGrid
Let’s be real. All of us sometimes wish we had more than 24 hrs in a day. Personally, I’m always looking to find ways to save time and be more and more efficient every day. Given everything that’s going on, I just can’t get enough done in my 24 hr day, and I can only keep up my sleepless nights for so long.
Well, if you’re one of the investors like me who’s looking for more efficiency when researching the market, I got a solution for you - SkyGrid
Currently in its beta stage, SkyGrid aims to solve just that by providing the users with an efficient way to screen through the mass amount of resources available to us everyday. Furthermore, not only does it help investors screen through news and articles in a customizable way, it satisfies the needs of more than just a typical investor.
Features:
- Filter through sectors (energy, finance, retail, tech, etc)
- Filter through your own portfolio (stocks, ETFs, etc)
- Filter through various sources (mainstream, web, blogs, etc)
- It even incorporates tweets from Stocktwits!
- Share news/articles with others via Twitter and FriendFeed
- Toggle news/articles with “Like” to save favorites
- A “real-time cluster” displaying the # of sources covering a particular topic – popularity display
- Best of all, it’s FREE
Uses:
- Investors looking for stock/ETF news relevant to their portfolio
- Blog owners like Abnormal Returns looking for popular articles
- Stocktwits users looking for relevant tweets
- Financial institutions looking for live stream of up-to-date news
- Users looking to share news/articles with their community via SkyGrid
- Users looking to move on from “old school” to “new school”. Common fellas, embrace the technology. We can’t be reading newspapers forever.
Here’s the video summarizing the SkyGrid features.
The only question I have for the site is: by incorporating Stocktwits, is SkyGrid potentially jeopardizing the credibility, allowing non-credible tweets to pass through the SkyGrid’s filter?
Even though SkyGrid is currently in its beta stage, I can get you some beta access if you’re interested. Contact me to get your own account today!
