Site Review: Stockcharts.com – EVERYONE’s charting friend
There are many advanced charting softwares pros and the like use. However, while these advanced softwares are useful, they are definitely not the most affordable solutions to average investors. Well if you’re one of those average investors, what do you do to keep up with the institutional “pros” who have access to the most advanced softwares out there?
Worry no more. If you haven’t heard of a site called Stockcharts.com already, then you haven’t done enough homework as an investor. You are missing out on one of the most popular free charting services out there. With over 300,000 unique visitors a month and claiming itself as “Simply the Web’s Best Financial Charts”, the site does not mess around when it comes to content rich charting features.
Features
1. Free advanced charts
From charting styles (candlestick, line, etc) to all of the advanced technical indicators (MACD, Accumulation/Distribution, RSI, Bollinger, etc), Stockcharts.com offers feature packed charts to the users all for free.
You have the ability to change the design of the charts, change the time frame, and even share it freely to the world as long as you include the “stockcharts.com” copyright on the charts. You can go to sites like www.chart.ly to see how the charts are being used by the community. While the free version gives you plenty of features, the paid subscription version give you even more benefits: real time, ability to save charts, ability to annotate and much more.
2. Chart School
Stockcharts.com not only provides you with the free charting software, it also does a really good job teaching investors with all of the key concepts on technical analysis and the like. Learn how to read the charts, the different indicators, the terms, and the overview of the financial analysis in depth, all for free.
3. Stock Screening
Although I like to use FINVIZ more than Stockcharts.com for stock screening, it also offers a nice feature to help investors identify their next plays.
Bottom line, this site is a charting solution for any investor. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a professional or a Joe Schmoe. Stockcharts.com is everyone’s charting friend.
