Legendary Timothy Sykes Investments

I signed up to a cool site called Covestor where you can link your brokerage account and track your performance real time. Other members have access to everyone’s profile and his/her portfolio. The site also ranks the users by performance, so you can easily see who’s doing well and who’s doing not. The best part is, you can track their portfolio real time so you can follow these successful investors and potentially make money w/ them.
This is where the legend Timothy Sykes comes into play. He’s a notable investor who traded thousands upon thousands of low priced stocks, turning his $12,415 Bar Mitzvah gift money into $1.65 million in 4 years. Now THAT’s crazy. I’ve been tracking his investments and observed a very interesting phenomenon.
His most recent holding was CNEH which he purchased on June 27th valued at $4.60. The next business day, the value spiked by almost a DOLLAR. That’s over a 20% increase in a single day. No news, no filings, no nothing. Did Timothy Sykes solely impact the price of this stock by 20%?? And of course, he sold this stock that same day for a hefty profit. Wow…oh and by the way, he has 731 followers who watches his stocks. Hmm…you know I’ll be watching his investments and its price fluctuations carefully. You should too.

It was a pretty good day for me despite the never ending headlines of bad news:
*Starbucks (SBUX) plans to close 600 stores and lay off 12,000 employees. Their stock’s down almost 50% in the last year.
*GM (GM) and Toyota (TM) both reported ~20% drop in sales this month over last June. GM touches near 54 year low.
*Dow and NASDAQ both hit the level that officially qualified the market as a bear market.
I bought DRYS again when it hit $75.39 and ended at $76.98 for the day. I swear it’s going up again!
I bought Tengaso (TGC) which is a stock once owned by Timothy Sykes. This stock has been on the upward move especially with the rising oil prices. Went up $0.10 since I bought it. I shall see tomorrow.
