Site Review: The Top Investing Blogs On My Google Reader

Over the course of last several years, I’ve visited hundreds of sites relevant to investing.  There are some that kept 5 seconds of my attention span, and then there are some that make it to my favorite RSS feeds for daily consumption.  Although I’ve shared some of these sites on my previous posts, I’m going to list all of them in one nice post including some of the new ones I haven’t covered yet.  Now keep in mind I am only going to cover the list of blogs I visit this time and not websites.  There’s a big difference.  Now let me help you find some of the new ones you’ve never been to (hopefully).

Abnormal Returns - I’ve covered Tadas’ site before in my blog, but I’m going to link it again.  If you’re looking for a worthy list of articles to read, go here.

Daily Options Report - Adam is a genius.  He gets two things men (and women) love.  Girls and Money.  He’s a knowledgeable investing expert who blogs about options, VIX and everything else in between.  Oh and one other thing, he never disappoints with his photos of beautiful and sexy girls on his posts.  Adam, I think it’s time to get your own domain though.

Afraid To Trade – Managed by a noteworthy investor, Corey Rosenbloom (whom I’ve interviewed), his consistent analytical posts on various stocks and technicals are not something you’d want to miss.

The Financial Ninja – Ben Bittrolff does a great job posting his insight on stocks daily with an easy to interpret charts.  Although I appreciate his views, I must say he’s rather bearish most of the time than bullish.  Now I can’t blame him, but if you’re a bull looking for some cheerleader to confirm your bullish views, he’s not your guy.

Market Folly - If you have an interest in hedge funds or manage one, he’s your guy.  Not only does he have great articles on hedge fund related topics (people, news, etc), he posts good analysis on the market from time to time.

Zero Hedge - I have a unique category just for Tyler and his Zero Hedge.  He cranks out so many posts everyday that he dwarfs all of my other RSS feeds.  I’ve covered him in the past.  No need to go further.

The Big Picture - Barry Ritholtz is another power house in the industry with non-stop quality posts.  I’ve covered him before also, and he’s another one who made me create a separate RSS feed category due to his insane amounts of posts daily.

Upside Trader - I’m a bit disappointed Joe joined the Stocktwits premium network charging a fee for his membership, but I can’t blame him.  His views and insight on the market are real.  I used to read his posts everyday until he went premium.  I have nothing against that and still think people will get value out of his service, but I personally can get enough insights from other blogs so I haven’t signed up.

Alpha Trends – Brian Shannon’s daily technical analysis is rather legendary in the investing community.  He’s been doing it for years, and he finally decided to kick it up a notch by going premium on Stocktwits.  Again, can’t blame the guy.  He should have done it long ago, but again, I’m personally okay with not signing up as I have other sources to get good insights.  You should really check out his old videos though.

Tickerville – Quint aka The Q-Man is quite a character.  I’ve spoken with him several times online, but he’s no dummy.  I personally go to his blog to watch the daily technical analysis, and he’s got some great insight.  I love it that he still offers his analysis for free.  He’s even kicked it up a notch by inviting guests for his “Tape Talk”.  I’ve covered him also here.

iBankCoin – The Fly, Le Fly, whoever he is, he’s quite the artful writer.  I just interviewed him here, but he and his entourage are something you don’t want to miss.  He’s more than just funny. He’s got the right insight on stocks.

Timothy Sykes – Whenever I feel like looking at penny stocks, I go to his site and see what he’s been looking at.  Even though penny stock’s not my main platform, I look at it here and there.  He’s your penny stock guy.

Wall St Cheat Sheet – Managed by the Hoffman brothers, this relatively new site is going full throttle.  Their site offers lots of great articles ranging from investing tips to interviews.  It’s always good to see others interviewing great people and sharing them with the community.  We can’t get enough of these great articles.  Definitely check them out.

Enjoy spending time going through hundreds of articles offered by these folks.  Now you don’t have any excuses for your failed trades because you didn’t have enough resources out there.

Adam's site is great indeed and with the Christmas web hosting offers he can take you up on your advice. It's a shame not to go on his own with such a blog. I wonder how many daily unique readers he has.

  • It's too bad others aren't willing to share their trades/investments and track records...mark my words, it will be the doom of the financial blogosphere as transparency will soon be required due to technology and evolution
  • I agree Tim..my next question would be how technology would transform the frauds in the financial industry...we talk about transparency being key now, but what if people start to exploit that very "transparency" itself?

maybe in sometime .. when my english will improve on 500%.. my site will be here too )
  • great list and most of them are in my RSS reader as well. thanks for including us, it's an honor! Do you read/have you heard of Pragmatic Capitalist and/or Reformed Broker? Those would be 2 off the top of my head if you're looking for more suggestions. Good idea for a post I'll have to do this as well.
  • Thanks MF. No I actually haven't and I will do that now. Thanks for the suggestions.

And yes, do tell when you post your own set of favorites. Now that's valuable.
